My Philosophy
September 16, 2009
My practice relies on emerging nutrition therapy techniques, which empower individuals to reach optimal health and well-being.
From my experience, traditional nutrition counseling methods such as food lists and calculated diets are ineffective and do not motivate change.
Instead, I use a non-dieting approach, which includes:
• Increasing mindfulness of negative behaviors, thoughts, and beliefs related to food, nutrition, and weight.
• Promoting behaviors, thoughts, and beliefs that enhance health.
• Identifying and resolving barriers that prevent individuals from making healthy choices.
• Increasing knowledge of specific foods and their health effects.
• Building a relationship of trust, warmth, and genuineness.
